Structure, Tower and Antenna Council

As a founding member of the Structure, Tower and Antenna Council (STAC), WesTower encourages and nurtures the constant evolution of our industry’s Health, Safety and Environment practices, promoting a culture where we continually and actively assess the safety of how we work.

In 2014, WesTower and Bell brought together a group of carriers, tower contractor companies and telecom engineering firms to launch a Canadian association representing companies in the communications infrastructure industry.

The Structure, Tower and Antenna Council (STAC) helps ensure communications antennas in Canada continue to be constructed with the highest regard to worker safety. STAC is a non-profit Council of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association, representing and providing a collaborative forum for Canadian wireless communications carriers, tower owners/operators, tower and rooftop equipment engineering service suppliers, and wireless communication facilities construction and maintenance contractors

STAC (Structure, Tower and Antenna Council) seeks to fill the void addressed in the United States by NATE (National Association of Tower Erectors).

STAC’s mission is to:

  1. Promote safe work practices and uniform standards for all personnel involved with communications towers and related industry infrastructure;
  2. Educate industry participants, government agencies and the general public on consistent standards, policies and best practices; and
  3. Provide a unified voice for the wireless infrastructure sector. STAC membership now includes over 50 Canadian contractor, carrier and engineering companies.
